A Life That Matters
by Nelie Mae Panit Gamilla
"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.
"Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.
Matthew 11:28-29
The One Year in Mission-NPUC Team, was invited by the Head of the City Budget Office of Batangas, Mrs. Elizabeth delos Reyes, to conduct a 5 day seminar to their office regarding health and stress management. The Department Head, Mrs. Elizabeth delos Reyes including her staff was very sincere and attentive as they listened to the topic that was discussed by the lecturers. On the first day, Bro. Albert S. HELPING OTHERS
Matthew 5:16
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
Helping others is one of the most important aspects in life today. There are many different ways, and different forms of helping people. Helping others could make another person feel better either inside, or about them self. It could be done through simple things.
So many times we want to give more to those who need help. We might think that giving only comes in the form of cash donations. This is not true; because you can give an anything or any simple thing that you have that comes into your heart. Everyone can give something whether it is time, money, food, clothing, slippers or some other way of helping others. Helping others includes the times when you visit the sick, the less fortunate or even the poor and homeless people.
Helping others has an unexpected way of giving us an enlightened perspective on life. I know that sometimes people don’t realize it, but when you help someone, you are in a way of helping yourself. All the good you may do unto others will always reflect upon you. No one knows when or how he/she is going to need help. As what the quotation aid; “It’s better to give, than to receive.”
As we look at our own lives we should think about Servant Leadership on how we can make a difference in people’s lives. Remember the smiles that you get after helping someone or helping other people are rewarding and make us feel really good about ourselves. It’s really worth it. May God bless us. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!
Acts 20:35-38
In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” And when he had said these things, he knelt down and prayed with them all. And there was much weeping on the part of all; they embraced Paul and kissed him, being sorrowful most of all because of the word he had spoken, that they would not see his face again. And they accompanied him to the ship.
